Turning photographs into art with Photoshop layers and filters…

To create the above image I selected two photos from my archives. I used one image unaltered as my start image and to the second image I added a couple of Photoshop filters. Then I placed the second image on top of the start image and blended them together. This was the result – I really like it. I’ve called it “Whirlpool”.

When I started this I had no idea what I was going to end up with – I had no agenda whatsoever. I just felt like experimenting!

What I’m going to do now is transfer my new “Whirlpool” image onto some acrylic paper or possibly canvas and then paint into it!
