Seascapes & Landscapes

A collection of abstract watercolour seascapes and landscapes…

Landscape & Seascape Mosaic - nb

…. a little fun play with my watercolour paints…. playing with washes, water and colour….

The colours I used for the above were: Cerulean Blue, Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Indigo, and Prussian Blue. These are going into my watercolour sketchbook to hopefully inspire future work…

  1. Evelyn–You have no idea how happy these simple textures make me. Years ago, I took an online class with someone in the UK (Lynda Monk of Purple Missus), where we made all kinds of texture samples in all kinds of mediums–similar to the work you’re doing with that surface design book (which I purchased last summer, but haven’t experimented with yet). Lynda Monk’s work was absolutely stunning. Your work puts the same kind of joy in my heart. Something so simple! Thank you for sharing your work with us!

    1. Thank you mmatuche for your lovely comment! I’m so happy to have put joy into someone’s heart with my simple splashes of colour! I will look up Lynda Monk later…!

  2. Thank you for your comments on my blog, Evelyn – so glad you like my Infusions experiments and our garden – all credit to my hubby on the latter! I am just in an advisory capacity there (what he calls “bossy” – what, moi?)

  3. stunning. wonderfully presented Evelyn. the 3 x 3 rows in squares like that, have long been a real favorite of mine…….. I’m drawn to the format every time! your color choices LOVE! 🙂

    1. Thank you Debi! These squares all came from larger pieces I didn’t like much and decided to cut up – and landscapes and seascapes is what I saw in the smaller squares……

      1. always my pleasure Evelyn!!
and it is the tricky part, to be able to let go the original plan – and allow a new path to emerge and then follow it. that was my hardest (still is) challenge; and for students as well. but, just like what you have produced with These magical 9, the result is so much More!!!

I'd love to hear your thoughts and observations...
