Sail Away….

Sail Away - NB

A quick and simple wet in wet watercolour seascape sketch. It took me about 10 minutes. It measures just 5″ x 3.5″. I used just blue paints, apart from a tiny touch of white guache for the sails of the boat…

Colours used: Prussian Blue, Indigo,  Phthalo Blue, Cobalt Teal Blue

Paper: Fabriano Artistco Watercolour Paper, 100% cotton, 140 lb Cold Pressed

You don’t always have to labour for days and hours over a detailed masterpiece, sometimes something quick and simple is enough….

  1. This is so true, Evelyn, and you have shown that so beautifully here. I really love this one, and it’s interesting to me because just lately, I have been of printing some of my photographs, really, really small. I don’t know why, but I just like them that way. 🙂

    1. Thank you Lisa. I’m only doing small watercolours at the moment because it’s less daunting than a large painting while I’m still trying to find my feel with watercolours….

  2. mmm…. cobalt teal blue.
magical colors that give us all a sense of contented serenity for a moment! love the clouds drifting in the sky too, it sets the mood perfectly.

I'd love to hear your observations and musings...
