This is the third week of the collage project I’m doing with my sister Carolyn, following the prompts in The Collage Workbook by Randel Plowman. Also it’s lovely to now have a number of other people joining in with our project. This week’s prompt is black and white. I did two black and white collages….
The first collage is more traditional black and white tones and the second is vintage style….
Both collages measure 8″ x 8″ and I have used some erosion bundle papers in both collages. Both are more complex in design than previous week’s collages.
I’m really enjoying this collage project and already my mind is working on next week’s theme….
These are wonderful!! (K)
Thank you Kerfe….
Very expressive and I like you choosen combinations for papers and tecture.
Thank you Sharon…. !
Evelyn, these are GREAT! I love working with black and white scraps. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thank you Carol – I’m pleased with how these turned out….
Nice. It really shows good design without color to carry it.
Thank you Sandy – not using colour makes it more of a challenge….
possibly my FAVES! You are very talented!!!
Thank you Jodi…..
Combination of the Colors are great !
Thank you Rini….
These are very cool, Evelyn! I am impressed! My old Granny fromBolton, Lancs used to use Carter’s Little Liver Pills! Great little blast from the past! Thanks 🙂
Thank you Carolynn….
I’m looking forward to making my black and white collage. I liked my White Out collage so much that I framed it tonight. I really like your black and white pieces, especially the first one. Carol
Thank you Carol….
Wonderful! I really like the addition of the textile pieces – they add so much interest!
Thank you Zsuzsa….
I wanted to check to see what you did! 🎨👍 And I LOVE both of them!! I like how you used black and white tones in your first one. I’m not sure I would have thought to do this idea. ❤️ And I like your vintage one too. I’m going to work on mine tonight I hope!
Thank you Jill – and isn’t it lovely how we all come up with different ideas? None of our collages are the same….
Yes, that is what I so enjoy about art – we can all interpret the subject matter in our own way! 😃
As much as I love your colors (especially your blues!), I really love these also.
The combinations of textures you used here are really wonderful, and the black and white seems to accentuate those textures.
Beautifully done!
Thank you Lisa…. the pieces of fabric seem to add a little depth to the collages. I like black and white very much in both art and photography….
Very inventive collages. I love what you are doing with these!
Thank you Andy….
These are lovely. Interesting to see you used some of your erosion bundle papers. I finally got around to making one at the weekend, with all sorts of fabrics and papers, though I think i have put too much stuff on each layer. The bundle is currently reclining in a plant tub by the back door, but even in the snow and rain it seems a bit dry, so I’ve chucked washing-up water over it and I’m going to move it to the veg patch, which catches the sun and rain. Now I will just have to wait and see what happens!
How exciting that you’ve made an erosion bundle – I’m thinking about starting another one soon. I’m really enjoying using some erosion bundle pieces in my collages….
you are one of the most, Versatile artists i have seen…. switching from watercolors, mixed media, textiles, collage…….. beautifully. lovely work. I adored the lemons, the palette from december, and these collages. I shared them on pinterest with your name/website so a lot more, can see them too!
Thank you Debi – the collage project was my sister’s idea and it’s so much fun. Thank you for sharing my work on Pinterest – it might raise my profile a little….
