Simplicity

simplicity-rn

This is a mixed media collage for my collaged sketchbook. It measures 10 cm x 12 cm including the white border and I used paper, acrylic paint and fabric.

I created my collaged sketchbook  using a vintage 1970’s recipe book that I bought from a charity shop for 50p ! I simply tore out the pages I didn’t want (the resulting sketchbook would be too bulky otherwise) and collaged the rest using pages from vintage/antique books. You can see a couple of photos of my empty sketchbook here on Flickr and here.

It has taken me ages to decide what to do with my collaged sketchbook and it’s been sitting  on a shelf in my studio for a couple of years! It’s only recently that I’ve decided to fill it with small samples of my own artwork. Hopefully these small samples of art will inspire me to create other works…

Creative Flurries…

Fabrics and papers - RN

In My Paint Palette - RN

Prussian Blue - RN

After a few months break to deal with a health issue, I’m having little flurries of creative ideas  again! I have resumed some art work and picked up my camera again…

Above is some of my favourite colours ~ Prussian Blue, Cerulean Blue, Turquoise, with a little white thrown into the mix! The first image is a little pile of papers and fabrics on my desk patiently waiting for some creative input…

Please do take a look at her beautiful work…

If you do visit Carolyn’s Etsy Shop and you see something you like my recommendation is that you buy it straight away to avoid disappointment because her work tends to sell out very quickly (particularly the textile hearts)… it probably wont be there when you return… !

I hope you all have a lovely day…
